Meet Maria Beatriz Badell, practicing therapist.
MS, LPC-Associate.
My Story
From a young age, I felt a deep desire to understand emotions, thoughts, and the underlying reasons behind human behavior. That curiosity became my vocation as a Mental Health Counselor, guiding my purpose to accompany individuals in their emotional and spiritual healing journey. My goal is to help clients overcome anxiety, sadness, or emptiness and reconnect with their life purpose through an approach that integrates evidence-based psychology with faith, always respecting and valuing their cultural background.
My training in the systemic approach has taught me to view each person as part of a larger system, where relationships and contexts profoundly influence emotional well-being. Throughout my professional experience, especially working with migrant populations, I have learned the importance of offering a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space. My therapeutic style is warm, direct, and gentle—guided by empathy, respect, and hope. I firmly believe that trust is built when clients feel they can express themselves freely, without fear, and with complete confidentiality.
Today, my purpose also includes accompanying Latina women who have experienced physical, psychological, or sexual abuse and domestic violence, helping them reconnect with their self-worth, independence, and sense of purpose. I also find deep meaning in conducting psychosocial evaluations within immigration processes, where I can provide emotional support and hope during moments of vulnerability. I believe in the healing power of faith, reflection, and human connection, and from my imperfect humanity, I walk alongside each person with the conviction that there is always a path toward the light.

My Passion
I am particularly passionate about helping Latina women (ages 25–60) who have experienced abuse or domestic violence rediscover their self-love, independence, and sense of purpose through a combination of therapy and spiritual reflection.
As part of Claria Counseling’s evaluation team, I also conduct psychosocial immigration evaluations. I believe there is deep meaning in providing clinical assessments and compassionate support for individuals facing psychological, physical, and sexual trauma. My goal is to offer hope and dignity to each client as they navigate their legal and personal journeys.
My Approach
My style is warm, direct, yet delicate and tactful. I believe therapy works best when clients feel completely safe and not judged. My sessions are guided by the client’s pace—allowing them to explore sensitive experiences in their own time—while maintaining a hopeful and structured dialogue that emphasizes strengths and values over diagnostic labels.
My clients often describe our sessions as grounding and restorative—a space where they can feel both supported and gently challenged toward growth.
